PHT – A Success Story

In December 1998, Josef Meßmer and Peter Wauts launched the company PHT Partner für Hygiene und Technologie GmbH (PHT Partners for Hygiene and Technology formed as an LLC according to German law).

The two partners look back on a total of 50 successful years as investment goods suppliers for the food industry. The partners have always operated with an eye on International commerce.

Today, PHT is the leading German outfitter of food companies in the areas of personnel and food production hygiene. Aside from the state of the art proprietary production facility with 140 employees, PHT also maintains long-standing partnerships with very proficient and innovative suppliers.

First-rate products, innovation, long-standing expertise and motivated excellent employees assure optimal solutions for all hygiene sluice areas.

Devices to maintain personnel hygiene are:

    All products are made of high quality stainless steel and made in Germany. The products comply with all prevailing International standards, including the IFS Standard (International food standard)

    PHT plans and delivers all equipment for the locker rooms. We comply with all standards. The stainless steel lockers are made in our own production facilities. One of our contract partners produces the colour coated annealed steel products. These products too are made in Germany.

    We produce stainless steel floor drains and floor drainage channels in our plant. PHT also plans, builds and worldwide set up meet cutting installations and materials handling and conveyor equipment for the food industry. This also includes automated picking setups for the global meat industry.

    Stainless steel cleaning machines to clean plastic and metal containers complete our equipment offer. The specially designed cleaning equipment for smoke trolleys and cheese aging grates comply with the high standards in the International food industry In Europe, mostly low-pressure foam cleaning systems are now used for general cleaning in the food industry. Together with a partner company, PHT is the leading provider of these cleaning systems in Germany. Mobile and stationary systems make it easy to find solutions for every task in companies of any size.

    Electric forklifts, forklift trucks and lift and tilt devices (lift Lorries), all made of massive stainless steel complement the program. Handling technologies and machines for special tasks are increasingly in demand.

    The PHT headquarters are now in Bad Tölz. This is an enchanting small Upper Bavarian town 50 km (35 mi.) south of Munich in Upper Bavaria in the foothills of the Alps.

    After entering the South African market successfully three years ago, the PHT owners Josef Meßmer and Peter Wauts together with another partner decided in 2007 to form a company, PHT Trading International (Pty) Limited, based in South Africa to service the local market directly.

    Deléne Koekemoer is the COO of the South African company based in Centurion. This ensures that a competent contact person is available locally for the transfer of all company expertise from Germany to South Africa.
